One more reason porn is better for you than religion

May 4, 2012

It turns out, porn sites are less likely to infect your computer with a virus or spy ware than are religious websites. Why, you ask? Because porn sites actually care about users coming back to their site because they are trying to make money. Thus, they don’t want their users…

Gordon Hinckley’s Address at the Multi-Stake Conference

Thanks to Saganist, Main Street Plaza can also provide you with a transcript of President Hinckley’s talk. Interestingly, this speech is based on an earlier one that Gordon Hinckley published in the Ensign in 1984 (PDF, scroll to p. 4). Among other things, he appears to be reminiscing about the…

Interesting. I’ve heard “highest porn consumption day: Sunday. State with highest subscription rate to porn websites per capita: Utah” myself. I’d be interested in what the cause of this is. Does it really have something to do with something specific to mormonism (like some cultural issue) or if it is a fluke.

I learned to have a much healthier view of porn once I wasn’t married to porn addict whose addiction eventually led him to commit a felony.

When I got away from him and had a multi-year respite from the church, I learned that not all porn was evil. However, like anything else that kicks the endorphins into overdrive, it has be used with care. Viewing at work – that’s rather effin’ stupid and risking employment is a sign of addiction.

Also, there is a fairly significant downside to the treatment of those involved in the industry so be a responsible consumer.
