Congratulations to 2023 X-Mormon of the Year: Adam Steed!!!

chanson, January 10, 2024January 10, 2024

Please note that the Brodie Awards nominations will remain open until Sunday, January 14, and we especially need more nominations of new creators who started in 2023 — nominate here!!

Congratulations to Adam Steed — 2023’s William Law X-Mormon of the Year!!!

Adam won for exposing the “horribly unethical” therapist Jodi Hildebrandt — as you can read about in this article in the Salt Lake Tribune.

Adam was one of the first whistleblowers who worked tirelessly to get LDS bishops to stop referring people to Hildebrandt. Hildebrandt was ultimately arrested in 2023.

I would also like to give a bit of an honorable mention to Lynn Packer — who lost to Adam Steed by only one vote!!

Lynn Packer was in the running due to his investigative reporting that helped bring down Tim Ballard and his fraudulent “Operation Underground Railroad”.

Lynn’s podcast provides a really interesting account of how the “OUR” attorneys killed a federal grand jury investigation — listen here! And we’ll see if Lynn cracks open some new big story in 2024 and then wins next year!!

As of this posting, the nominations are still open for the Brodie Awards, and will continue to be open until Sunday, January 14th. I’m gathering up the nominations on this post — please have a look and see if you know of any other LDS creators or works from 2023 who deserve more recognition. Anyone can nominate — I look forward to hearing from you!
