I heard this story this morning- about an exhibit at the Jewish Museum in New York: An exhibit at the Jewish Museum in New York looks at some of the many ways people are re-imagining Jewish ritual. From “green energy” synagogues to a prayer shawl that doubles as an apron,…
The big news this past week is the new LDS website Mormons and gays. From what I gather, the most amazing part is that in the official church stance they admitted that some people are gay or lesbian (they even made reference to reality on this!) whereas before this site,…

That’s hilarious. I definitely have to read Walter Kirn’s books.
That is fabulous!!!
What a cool guy. OK, I’m moving some of his books up to the top of my to-read pile. 😀
I’m running Firefox 3.6 on a Mac and the masthead is nowhere to be seen. Anybody else not seeing a masthead?
Masthead=missing, totally.
Love the video clip.
Sorry about the masthead issue. I was sent a new masthead and tried to get it working, but apparently the file was corrupt. I tested it on Google Chrome, and Chrome rendered it despite it being corrupt. Firefox didn’t. So, until I get a non-corrupted version back, the old masthead is back.
Please give me a shout if this doesn’t display properly at the link:
Nice masthead! The younger Mr Kirn looks like Kevin Bacon. I wonder how many degrees that is.
Did Walter Kirn abandon us once he was covered in glory from his award? Where’s the acceptance speech?
He’ll probably come back once the newspapers cover this story! 😀
Seems like he’s pretty busy giving interviews since winning the USC Libraries Scripter Award. If we don’t hear anything soon, I’ll go ahead and write up the press release.
I am a year late, but I just finished the book and it was great.
Well written with a fresh perspective- my only beef is with the ending, which is undoubtedly intended as ironic.
I highly recommend the book to all former mormons, or people who appreciate character development OR, most importantly, anyone who has had to sit through any business motivational speeches or training.
