2. Too funny! Particularly the milk carton.

   I followed the link to one of the articles cited on the site (Romney spends 35 seconds dodging a yes or no question) and found this interesting tidbit:

   Asked for comment about the candidates contrasting approaches to reporters, Bachmann spokeswoman Alice Stewart reiterated that Michele has been very accessible to the media. We have press avails after virtually every event We welcome the opportunity to answer questions from members of the media.

   But isn’t Bachmann’s campaign busy crashing and burning? Maybe there’s something to Romney’s strategy…

3. This is a bit of a tangent, but bear with me.

   I was reading some of the interesting sidebar articles about Alan Osmond. His raging homophobia doesn’t surprise me, and neither does this:

   CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article identified Osmond’s article as appearing on a Mormon website. The Family states, “Though we are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this site reflects our words and is not an official site of our Church.”

   CORRECTION: A website does not have to be an official site of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be a Mormon site. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does not own the word Mormon..

   Anyway, when I was watching the above video, it kind of reminded me of the CoJCoL-dS’s strategy of limiting access to anyone who can “officially” answer questions, and then only officially discussing topics they want to discuss. It seems to be working well for the brethren, so why wouldn’t Mitt take a page from them?

4. If there’s something to Romney’s strategy then the core constituency of the conservative GOP who are most committed to Obama’s defeat don’t seem to be getting it or are working hard at evading it.

   If you check our the comments to tonight’s debate you’ll see some Romney supporters and others who are resigning themselves to his inevitability. But you’ll also see a large and vocal group who knowingly prefer to support Perry after he proved himself a fool AGAIN, or Cain after he has been exposed as a horndog and then aggravated the matter by seeking to insult Nancy Pelosi in a particularly misogynistic way while on the defensive, or Gingrich while he acted like a pompous arrogant bully. I’m wondering if one of them were convicted of murder or robbing churches if they wouldn’t remain preferable to Romney among the GOP faithful…

5. Yeah, visitor’s #4 sounds about right. Maybe spending too much time online has skewed my POV, but it sure seems that not having folks like Erick Erickson on board pretty much guarantees a vocal anybody-but-Mitt movement that, unlike the mainstream media, isn’t gonna just pivot one day down the road and pretend like they suddenly find the guy palatable.

   Edit: That said, I’d guess that the Romney camp is quietly assembling the Dukakis II rockets that will provide the escape velocity needed to blast away from the GOP base and enter orbit over some moderate latitude just slightly south of Chicago.

6. Re #3, it seems like the ol’ plausible deniability routine that lets nutters like Alan do their thing until it attracts more attention than LDS Public Affairs can abide. And in Alan’s case, I think he may be on the cusp of achieving that level of notoriety with his latest.

   Speaking of Alan, just to confirm something, I hope our reader/commenter/friend-of-the-blog Dave Evans gets his proper due for breaking the story about Alan’s exploits. I think we gave it a good initial push with our post here on Nov. 1 and Queerty followed up with their post on Nov. 3 that acknowledged Dave’s role.
