Now I know what you’re thinking. Every time I come to MSP, it gets a little more broken!! But now it really will start going in a good direction.
Here’s the scoop: ProfXM has been hosting MSP on a hosting service that he wasn’t really happy with for several years. So we’ve kind of been trying to move to a new service for a year or so, yet have been slowed down by not really having the time to find a new service and figure out how to set it up.
I recently signed up for a Linux server somewhere out in cyberspace, and I’ve been running the exmo Minecraft server on it. I’m quite happy with it, so I installed WordPress on it, and now Main Street Plaza and Outer Blogness are running on it.
The only problem is that (perhaps do to version incompatibility) just copying all of the configuration files from ProfXM’s server to mine didn’t quite work. So I will have to reconstruct the look-and-feel, re-add the plugins, etc. The good part is, though, that now I understand fairly well how the WordPress software works and where all the files are, so it’ll be easier for me to make changes.
tl;dr: bear with me on the server updates — we’re finally running on the new server, and we’re on track to get the site working well.
I like the color scheme better than the red one that was up before, but that may just be me…
A big thanks to ProfXM for reinstalling all the plugins and rebuilding the look and feel!!
