I don’t care if you’re Mormon, Scilon or Marian … You skateboarders are *all* the same.

Hi, I’m Aron and I’m *not* a Crip.

And I’m Josh, but as I explain in my clip (watch and wait for it), I’m definitely *not* a Scientologist.

Whatever, Josh and Aron. Check this out. I’m the coolest Franciscan on the planet.

Or at least, I’m not *this* fellow priest (NSFW).

Trifecta. Pax et bonum.

My Utah Show and Tell

Every writer must remind herself to show not tell. Dont waste 500 words telling your reader that your character is a nincompoop. Instead show it. Have him mistake the London Underground for a political movement, or fill an entire evening with praises to his patroness, Lady Catherine DeBourgh, or sketch…

Does this make sense to anyone else?

February 26, 2011February 25, 2011

We recently had some visitors to our university from Eboo Patel’s InterFaith Youth Core. They are trying to encourage interfaith dialogue, of course, since that is what their movement is about. One of the handouts they gave us was this guest post from The Washington Post’s “On Faith” site called:Why…

Does Advertising Campaign Enhance or Dilute Mormon Brand?

Guest post by Rex Whisman. Republished with permission. [Note from Chino Blanco: Cross-posted here because I’ve just finished listening to Kyle Monson’s “Publicity, Advertising, & the New Mormon.org” at BCC, and reading Kaimi Wenger’s “The Angel and the Internet” at Times & Seasons, and I think Rex’s questions might provide…

That first one is too funny!!! That old guy wasn’t serious, was he?

I don’t think he is, Chanson. That supposedly old guy’s voice is very familiar to me. It sounds like the guy who did “Trigger Happy TV,” which was roughly the British equivalent of Jackass. I bet this is just a skit of his for either that show or some more recent one.

    *minutes later*

Sweet, I just confirmed my theory. The skateboarder video above is from “World Shut Your Mouth,” which was done by the same producers and personalities as “Trigger Happy TV.”

Jon — OK, you’ve lost me. If this guy is a television personality and this is one of his skits, then that means it’s a joke, right?

And I’m suddenly less keen to share the planet with you people and your lack of respect for a proper British accent, your Google be damned.

Chino — continuing your tangent. 😉

While I was visiting my family in the US, they thought it was really cute that my son Nico speaks with a perfectly American accent except when he’s inventing his own science documentaries. For that, he switches to BBC English. “Adds credibility,” remarked my brother. 😉

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. Yes, the video is a joke.

The first one is kind of a “Candid Camera” thing. The “old man” is a comedian; the kids are (presumably) just regular kids walking down the street.

Since the priest video proves that skateboarding is an excellent way to meet young boys, I’m sure we’ll see many more skateboarding priests in the future.
