Collecting Nominations for the 2024 Brodie Awards!!

chanson, December 8, 2024January 23, 2025

(The nominations for X-Mormon of the Year 2024 are currently open here.)

This year marks the fifteenth year of the Brodie Awards!!! I hope many of you are already familiar with how this works — but I also hope there are also some new people participating for the first time this year!! Especially for the new people, let me explain a bit about how this works:

The Brodies are a set of awards like the Oscars (or Grammys, Emmys, Tonys, etc.) specifically geared towards LDS-interest (and particularly X-LDS-interest) content creators.

The categories themselves are crowd-sourced and change from year to year — based on what types of content were well represented over the past year. There are two main sections: year-long awards for content creators (and their sites/channels) and awards for individual works.

Anyone can nominate (in the comments below and/or in the corresponding Reddit threads). Please feel free to nominate yourself and your own works (up to 3 times).

Please, please include links in your nominations. Sometimes comments with links get stuck in moderation — if this happens to you, please email me at chanson dot exmormon at gmail dot com, and I’ll approve your comment.

I will start with a set of suggested categories — but please feel free to suggest your own categories! Each category needs to have three nominees in order to be included in the voting phase — so please be ready with three nominees if you have a category suggestion that you’d like to see included.

Time to Vote for X-Mormon of the Year 2022!!!

January 2, 2023January 2, 2023

If it looks like your nominee is missing, please be aware that I moved all nominations for content-creators (Radio Free Mormon, Exmo Lex, Nuanceho, etc.) to the nominations for the Brodie Awards. That’s the place for content creators who are nominated specifically for their creative work (as opposed to being…

January 3, 2025January 5, 2025

It was a tight race this year!! …just kidding, of course — Douglas Stilgoe (a.k.a. Nemo the Mormon) won by a landslide. In addition to making entertaining content on his YouTube channel, Douglas has been a tireless advocate for positive change within the CoJCoL-dS. He even flew to Fairview, Texas…

I like this meme from The Lord’s Newsroom on Instagram for the LDS Image category:
LDS Church Faces New Class-Action as Members Demand Their Planets.

Will there be a specific humor category this year?
