I noticed this recent post over at TPM and it got me to thinking about Facebook and what we do here. the new mission model – pay for fans
LDS Inc. has signed on with http://usocial.net/ to buy Facebook fans and Youtube hits. Now I know why 600,000+ people have watched some of the stuff in the MormonMessage’s Youtube channel: the Mormon Church is paying usocial.net to make it happen. This almost seems like a genius, albeit superficial, marketing approach – buy hits to make it seem like people find you interesting in the hopes of people actually finding you interesting. How sad…

Visited the stealth office of the NOM today
I was doing some Christmas shopping downtown and thought it might be amusing to swing by the office of the National Organization for Marriage — since it’s right there in the pedestrian-friendly shopping district of Princeton. According to an earlier post, it’s in the same building (20 Nassau Street) as the shop where we got our kids their back-to-school shoes this past fall, in suite 242.
